Strategi Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam Dalam Pembentukan Karakter Peserta Didik

Abstract


Character education is a very important education for the betterment of individuals and society. Islamic religious education teachers have a great responsibility in preparing Muslim children so that they have sufficient provisions for life in the future. In the midst of the morality and character crisis that has hit this country, SMPN 1 Liukang Tupabbiring Kab. Pangkep is present as a place to educate a moral and moral generation based on faith and piety.

The objectives of this study are to: (1) To find out the PAI teacher's strategy in shaping the character of students at SMPN 1 Liukang Tupabbiring Kab. Pangkep. (2) To find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in shaping the character of students at SMPN 1 Liukang Tupabbiring Kab. Pangkep.

To achieve these objectives, researchers used field research methods with a qualitative approach. In collecting data, researchers used several methods, namely, observation methods, documentation and interviews/interviews. The data analysis method used is the data triangulation system to test the validity of the data obtained. The data obtained are data from observations, interviews and documentation that are reduced or processed to obtain valid conclusions.

The strategies used by PAI teachers in shaping the character of their students: first, discipline. Teachers enforce discipline by giving reprimands or sanctions for those who break the rules. Second, habituation. With habituation programs at school such as: dhuha prayers in congregation and tausiah. Third, exemplary. Teachers give examples and direct invitations to students.
