Implementasi Love Language dalam Pencegahan Perceraian pada Pasangan Suami Istri Long Distance Marriage (LDM) Perspektif Hukum Islam di Desa Lontar
Abstract
The characteristics of long-distance marriages have a minor impact on the durability of the marriage, such as minimal communication, infrequent meetings, and reduced intimacy. Divorce is often the end of a marriage, including relationships that have been built with great effort, such as those experienced by several couples in Lontar Village, Tirtayasa District, Serang Regency, Banten, due to economic reasons such as working as migrant workers or moving to other cities. Relationships like this often end in divorce. To overcome this, Garry Chapman's concept of Love Language can be used as a means of expressing love and maintaining marital harmony despite the distance. This study formulates two problems, namely, first, how to apply Love Language in preventing divorce among Long Distance Marriage (LDM) couples in Lontar Village, Tirtayasa Subdistrict, and second, how Islamic law views the application of Love Language in preventing divorce among Long Distance Marriage (LDM) couples in Lontar Village, Tirtayasa Subdistrict. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study shows the importance of applying Love Languages in maintaining marital relationships, especially for couples in long-distance relationships. The types of Love Languages that have a significant effect in preventing divorce are Quality Time and Acts of Service, supported by open and good communication. From an Islamic legal perspective, the application of several Love Languages in Lontar Village, Tirtayasa District, is in line with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, although not all of them are applied perfectly due to the different tendencies of each individual.
