Examining the Concept of Strengthening Character Education in the Book of Bidayatul Hidayah by the Thought of Imam Al Ghazali
Abstract
The influence of globalization is growing very rapidly in the romance of human life, causing various positive and negative impacts on humans. Recently, the world is faced with a moral crisis, rampant online gambling, uncontrolled acts of corruption, and rampant drug use. Making the role of strengthening character education is important to be implemented from various educational sectors. This study aims to find out in depth the concept of strengthening character education from the perspective of Imam Al Ghazali. This research is a library research with a descriptive approach, through data analysis techniques in the form of content analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the strengthening of character education in the book of bidayatul hidayah includes the value of religiosity which is emphasized through the adab of praying to Allah, the attitude of tolerance, which is emphasized through the ethics of getting along with ordinary people, the attitude of courtesy, which is reflected in the ethics of students towards teachers, the attitude of honesty and hard work, which is emphasized in the role of teachers as role models.
